The Turkana Jewel Cichlid (Rubricatochromis exsul, formerly Hemichromis exsul) is a stunning, 3–4 inch, deep-red African cichlid native to Lake Turkana, Kenya. Known for its vivid color and metallic blue spots, this hardy, smaller species is territorial but generally more docile than other jewel cichlids. They thrive in alkaline, hard water and make excellent parents.
